Minneapolis & St. Paul and the surrounding areas come alive each summer full of amazing events for families and adults alike. Here are some of the Twin Cities Summer Events you should attend at least once

June

Northern Spark (June 11th)

The all night art festival has grown every year. This year the theme is Climate Change. There are exhibits at many of the art museums in town as well as area parks with art pieces.

Rock The Garden (June 18th)

One of the biggest concerts in the Twin Cities, with headliners like The Flaming Lips & Chance the Rapper, this is one of the biggest summer shows in the area.

Stonearch Bridge Festival (June 18th)

One of the best art festivals in the Twin Cities, right along the Mississippi river, is an annual favorite. It’s full of local artists as well as many food trucks. The Uptown Art Fair is another one as well as many other art festivals throughout the summer.

July

Fourth of July Fireworks (July 4th)

Many locations around, including downtown Minneapolis on the river, with watch sites like the StoneArch Bridge and the Guthrie, as well as other parts of the suburbs including the Commons/Big Island in Excelsior and many cities, including Stillwater and others, have their own fireworks show.

Basilica Block Party (July 8-9)

The Basilica Block party is the biggest part of the year in Minnesota in terms of music and this year’s headliners include Death Cab for Cutie, The Fray, Gary Clark Jr., Ryan Adams and the Shining as well as many others.

Aquatennial (July 20-23)

The Aquatennial, know for over 70 events, such as the sand castle contest, parade, fireworks and the milk carton boat races.

August

Minnesota Renaissance Festival (Aug. 20-Oct. 2)

This interactive festival recreates the 16th century and has many attractions, including animals, magic acts, jousting and more!

Minnesota State Fair (Aug. 25Sept. 5)

One of the nation’s largest and well-known state fairs, the Minnesota State fair is a must-attend for many!

With favorites like Sweet Martha’s Cookies and many foods on a stick, come hungry!

Throughout the Summer

Valleyfair (Memorial Day-Labor Day)

This must-do Twin Cities event is open through the whole summer. Valleyfair, the largest amusement park in Minnesota, is a great place to go with kids & families to ride rollercoasters and go to the waterpark.

Twins/Saints Game

Sports are a huge draw in the Twin Cities and the Twins Games and newly built Saints Stadium are great events that happen throughout the summer.
